Tips for Women Who Feel Embarrassing to Start Training, Because of their Overweight

Tips for women who are embarrassed to start training

What to wear at the gym

Every woman wants a good relationship with a great guy, but also in order for that to happen, you have to make him interested first. The first step in order to keep a man who is interested is capturing the attention of a man. It’s like entering a room full of people and he will see you as the only woman in the room because you caught his attention.
Walking into a gym for the first time can be an embarrassing experience. You might be self-conscious that you are too out of shape, while everyone seems to fit, or that you’re wearing the wrong clothes, or you can just feel out of place. But it is important to get through the paranoia and start exercising.

There is nothing more discouraging than to drag your boomer body out of bed on a crisp cool morning, throw on a t-shirt and an old baggy shorts, pulling a mismatched pair of socks and beat up old sneakers and went for gym, only to find yourself surrounded by 20-somethings in their tight string leotards and cropped tops, looking super slim at your lumpy body. Yet there are many plus size women or full figured women who prefer hidden under big, big tent-like clothing.

Anyone trying to start an exercise program knows how hard it is to stick with it for more than a few weeks. You may feel selfish for taking time for yourself, whether you are too busy or tired to exercise. Some people find exercise boring and lose their enthusiasm. But there is an unnoticed reason that people can avoid to practice, and that is an embarrassment.

Anyone can feel a little nervous about exercising in public if they have not done it in a while. Such as:

I do not know what for the type of clothing to wear.
I do not like the way I look. I’m too fat to exercise in public.
I’m so clumsy. I’m afraid I’ll trip, or do not know how to use a machine.

What if I break a machine?
I do not know how to deal with the whole dressing room scene.

What if it’s busy and I have to stand around waiting to use the equipment? I’ll feel so uncomfortable.
I do not want to have to talk to anyone.

You can get a lumpy body but that’s why you go to the gym in the first place: to get yourself in better shape. You want to feel good and look good. And the fitness center is the best place to start. Here are some tips on what to wear at the gym that will make you look great:

Do not wear oversized t-shirts. You may think you hide those love handles but wearing something that is too big for you will only make you look oversized.

Skip the big bold prints.

Avoid clothes that glitters, has a cute saying or shouting “Here I am, pay attention to me”

Colors should be simple. Black is always slimming. There are numerous coordinated outfits that have silhouettes or vertical lines that add to the effect. Simplicity is the key.

If you wear shorts, they should be of a decent length, too short and you have a chance that they will scour the wrong places, too long and you look like you could trip. Capri length, just below the knee, works for most women, only the tallest in women can get away with a longer length, and Bermuda length works for most men.

Make sure the clothes fit. You want to feel comfortable, whether you step on a treadmill or balancing on a BOSU.

Wear layers of clothing. On that crisp cool morning, you will warm between home and the car, the car and the gym, but once you start exercising, you’ll to shed want a layer or two. A zip top with a mock collar or hood is a good choice for a top and a simple short t in a solid color acts as a second layer.

Select fabrics that breathe. Cotton is best. It absorbs moisture and is easy to care for. Cotton or one of many new fabrics that have a “wicking” action will help keeps you comfortable and dry.

Wear comfortable socks. The best form for the prevention of the blisters is actually two layers of material. They move against each other instead of against you, and they provide an additional cushion for your feet if you’re hitting the stair stepper.

Get a new pair of fashionable sneakers. If you exercise regularly, your sneakers will need to be replaced every three months. Do not skimp on your shoes. Your feet are the foundation of your body. They need the best support you can afford.

Lastly, and this is not a fashion tip – relax! And congratulate yourself for getting to the gym in the first place. Taking time for yourself and your health should be a top priority.
